Perfect Pitch to Release LIFT Concept Album Feat. Jennifer Tierney et al., May 31

Perfect Pitch will be releasing a concept album of LIFT, a new British musical by Craig Adams and Ian Watson. This recording, which will be available to buy from Thursday May 31st, features West End names including Louise Dearman, Michael Xavier, Jennifer Tierney, Paul Ayres, Julie Atherton and Jack Shalloo.

LIFT has been developed by the Perfect Pitch network since 2008, when it was performed as part of the Perfect Pitch 2008 showcase at Trafalgar Studios, and this recording marks the first album of a new musical to be released on the Perfect Pitch label. LIFT will be available to buy via CD and download from Dress Circle, Amazon, CD Baby and iTunes.

Eight people get in a LIFT at Covent Garden tube station on an ordinary morning. They may be complete strangers, but in some way they are all connected and if they reached out to one another they might just change their lives forever. The journey of the lift takes just one minute - will they do something about it today or will they choose to carry on being anonymous, walking off into the rush and losing themselves once more in the city? LIFT is about people and connections. The connections we have without knowing about them, the connections we lose sight of and the connections we don’t mean to have.

Perfect Pitch has assembled an impressive cast of experienced West End performers for this recording. Louise Dearman has just finished starring as ‘Glinda’ in “Wicked”, and has also recently played 'Eva Peron' in the national tour of “Evita” and 'Mimi' in “Guys and Dolls” at the Piccadilly Theatre. Michael Xavier is currently playing ‘Bob Baker’ in “Wonderful Town” on tour. Other recent credits include ‘Oliver’ in “Love Story” at the Duchess Theatre and ‘Cinderella's Prince’ in “Into The Woods” at the Open Air Theatre, both Olivier-nominated performances.

Jennifer Tierney’s recent credits include “Wicked”, the national tour of “Jerry Springer the Opera” and the international tour of “Mamma Mia!”. Paul Ayres is currently appearing in “Ghost” at the Piccadilly Theatre, and has also recently appeared in the UK Tour of “We Will Rock You” and “Jersey Boys” at the Prince Edward theatre. Julie Atherton is currently touring the UK as ‘Sister Mary Robert’ in “Sister Act”. West End theatre credits include ‘Kate Monster’ in “Avenue Q” at the Noel Coward Theatre. Jack Shalloo recently finished playing ‘Hamlet’ in “Hamlet the musical!” at Richmond Theatre. He has also appeared in “Departure Lounge” at the Waterloo East theatre and the UK Tour of “Our House”.

Perfect Pitch support and develop new and emerging British writers of original musicals in collaboration with a network of partners across the UK. Founded in 2006, Perfect Pitch runs a full artistic programme and has fully established itself on the musical theatre landscape, focussing on developing new musicals by British writers through workshops, readings, creative and dramaturgical input, showcases and production opportunities in collaboration and in partnership with theatre and non-theatre organisations around the UK. Perfect Pitch also actively promote emerging writers and creatives through concerts, productions, publication and licensing of the new musicals that have been developed through the network. Perfect Pitch is a not-for-profit development network, and from April 2012 are partially funded as part of the Arts Council England's National Portfolio Funding.
