Osip Theatre Presents STEPHEN AND THE SEXY PARTRIDGE 11/25-1/2/2010

Osip Theatre presents STEPHEN AND THE SEXY PARTRIDGE By Lily Bevan and Finnian O'Neill Directed by Cal McCrystal

Trafalgar Studios (Studio 2), 14 Whitehall, London, SW1A 2DY

November 25th 2009 - January 2nd 2010

PRESS NIGHT Monday 30th November at 10pm

Following last year's sell-out run at The Old Red Lion, the musical comedy Stephen and the Sexy Partridge, directed by award-winning The Mighty Boosh director Cal McCrystal, returns to London.

Ever had a problem that really only a partridge could solve? And a sexy one, at that?

Inspired by The Twelve Days of Christmas, Stephen and the Sexy Partridge is a ridiculously silly, unexpectedly topical, and infectiously energetic tale of Christmas cheer, of bagpipe-playing potatoes, revolutionary hens, and dancing swans, and of a love between one man and his bird.

Award-winning theatre and television director Cal McCrystal is best known for his work with The Mighty Boosh, Sacha Baron Cohen, Peepolykus, Spymonkey and Cirque de Soleil.

Lily Bevan, co-writer of Stephen and the Sexy Partridge, plays The Partridge. Her acting credits include A Voyage Round My Father (Donmar/West End) and Kindertransport (Shared Experience). Writing credits include Avocado, recently performed at King's Head Theatre.

Finnian O'Neill is co-writer with Bevan, and plays Stephen. As an actor, his credits include The Trial (National Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Swan Theatre, High Wycombe) and Ben Hur (BAC). O'Neill also co-wrote Shades of the Prisonhouse for the Newpoint Players.

The cast includes Lorna Beckett, Lily Bevan, Pandora Colin, Lucia McAnespie, Finnian O'Neill, Maggie Service, Gemma Whelan and Lizzie Winkler

The production is designed by Emma and Giuseppe Belli, who have just designed West Side Story for Pimlico Opera, and Verdi's Falstaff for Grange Park Opera Tour in 2008. Current work includes modeling and adapting Jamie Hewlett's designs for a proposed world tour of his opera with Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz) Monkey: Journey to the West.

Sound is by Alex Caplen (Deputy Head of Sound, Royal Court), Stage Manager is Sarah Tryfan (Resident Royal Court), and the composer is Peter Salem (theatre and television composer including extensive work for Shared Experience, National Theatre, RSC and Royal Court).

"Probably the silliest, most hilarious production in town. If you need something to get you into the Christmas spirit this is just the thing." whatsonstage.com

"Topical, tongue-in-cheek and teasing, this festive farce delights in being ridiculous and is, as a result, irresistible." The Stage
