OUT Announces Simon Callow, Isis King, George Wayne and More as OUT100

OUT-Announces-George-Wayne-Simon-Callow-Isis-King-and-more-as-OUT100-20010101

Today, OUT Magazine continued their roll-out of the OUT100 – announcing that architect Charles Renfro, actor Simon Callow, model Isis King, Vanity Fair contributor George Wayne, Urban visionary Dan Barasch and architect/designer Rafael de Cardenas, have been added to their list of the most compelling people of the year.

Simon Callow: With the release of Anonymous, a big-budget Shakespearean who-dunit, public scrutiny has reached a boiling point over the Bard of Avon's true identity. But Callow – one of England's finest thespians and one of the first notable actors to officially come out (in 1984) – is here to set the record straight. Starring in the one-man show Being Shakespeare, he leads the audience through colorful tales of Elizabethan times that reinforce the veracity of the legendary author's name.

Isis King: This year, Isis, took many steps closer to establishing herself as the kind of multihyphenate talent she knows she can be. Aside from acting in her first full-length feature, Hello Forever, a film about four women facing hardship in the Philippines, she landed her first major campaign with American Apparel, which partnered with GLAAD for their "Legalize Gay!" and "Gay O.K." T-shirt line.

"It ended up being way bigger than I ever thought it would be," she says, noting that she was the company's first transgender model. "Now I'm just really wanting the world to see my first talent." That would be clothing design, on which she's focusing on in the coming year. "I don't want to push myself and say I'm showing a 'collection' and get so nervous about it. I think I'll say I'm showing a 'presentation'."

George Wayne: The Jamaican born Vanity Fair contributor is best known for referring to himself in the third person (G.W.) mixing backbanded compliments with offensive questions, and always, always getting the last word in an interview.
