Neil Diamond Tribute BROTHER LOVE'S TRAVELLING SALVATION SHOW Eyes West End Debut

BROTHER-LOVES-TRAVELLING-SALVATION-SHOW-Eyes-West-End-Debut-20010101

The world premiere of "Brother Love'S TRAVELLING SALVATION SHOW", a theatrical concert, devised by Malcolm Spencer and directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood, began a nationwide tour on 8 April this year and completed the tour in May. The show, a celebration of Neil Diamond, stars Brian Conley, Darren Day and Ben James-Ellis.

Is the next stop for the travelling show London's Gielgud Theatre?

It's a distinct possibility, reports The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye, as negotiations are underway for the show's possible autumn West End opening.

The production's tour was presented in a fully-heated and specially adapted Big Top style venue and featured many of Neil Diamond's best loved hits, including Sweet Caroline, Cracklin' Rose, Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon, Love on the Rocks, I am... I said, and many more.

With over 115 millions albums sold worldwide, Neil Diamond's shows are something of a musical journey. Famed for their glamorous costumes, fabulous big-band sound and visual presentation, a Neil Diamond concert has always been something of a theatrical experience. Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show was Neil Diamond's fourth album, released in 1969, and his larger-than-life depiction of a travelling preacher meant the song itself quickly became an encore favourite in his concerts.

"Brother Love'S TRAVELLING SALVATION SHOW" sets out to encapsulate the flamboyance, sincerity and sense of fun associated with Neil Diamond's shows, along with a musical authenticity and representation of his showmanship that will leave no Neil fan disappointed.

The production is directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood, whose recent theatre credits include "Hot Mikado" (also a national tour), "Martin Guerre", "Sunset Boulevard" (transferred to the Comedy Theatre) and "Copacabana", all at the Watermill Theatre, along with a new production of "Chess" for a UK National Tour. Set and costumes are designed by Matthew Wright, whose credits include the costumes for the Menier Chocolate Factory's "Sweet Charity" (also West End) and "La Cage aux Folles" (also West End and Broadway; Tony Award nomination for Best Costume Design of a Musical, Olivier Award nomination for Best Costume Design, Winner - Outer Critic's Circle Award for Outstanding Costume Design, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Costume Design), and the set and costumes for "Shadowlands" and "The Glass Menagerie" (West End).
