There have been a number of changes and additions to the programme for Edinburgh Festival 2013 since the launch in March. The Festival has announced the casts for Gate Theatre Dublin's productions of Eh Joe and First Love.

Michael Gambon, famous for roles on screen and stage including most recently Quartet, The King's Speech, and the Harry Potter movies, as well as All That Fall, Krapp's Last Tape and No Man's Land will reprise his acclaimed role in Eh Joe, Beckett's play originally written for television and successfully adapted for stage by Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan in 2006.

Peter Egan, star of Alan Bennett's new play People, Trevor Nunn's Hamlet, Journey's End and You Never Can Tell on stage and small screen favourites such as Ever Decreasing Circles, A Perfect Spy and Cold Comfort Farm as well as movies including Chariots of Fire and Bean, will perform in First Love, Beckett's 1946 novella brought to the stage by director Michael Colgan.

The Festival is delighted to present Valentina Nafornita in her Festival debut. Ms Nafornita, the youngest ever winner of Cardiff Singer of the World will play the role of Marzelline in Fidelio as unfortunately Karen Vourc'h is indisposed. Widely praised for her stage presence and rich, silvery voice she is tipped for a starry future and is currently making debut performances at prestigious concert halls and opera houses around the world.

Due to unforseen circumstances it will not be possible to present the world premiere of To Dream Again at Festival 2013. Peter Gregson very much hopes to present this work at a later date.

The Festival has announced that Gerhild Romberger is able to step in for an indisposed Anna Larsson in a much anticipated performance ofMahler's Second Symphony by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Ms Romberger performs regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmnonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester. This performance marks her Festival debut.
