Landor Theatre has announced Charlotte Wakefield as the next artist to appear as part of their successful cabaret series 'A Spotlight On... The Landor Theatre West End Cabaret Series', on August 19th 2012.
'A Spotlight On' is a series of one night only performances every third Sunday of the month. 'A Spotlight On...' is an opportunity for well known musical theatre artists to share the music and stories that are important to them, both within their careers and their personal lives. It has earned a solid reputation for the quality of its artists and their uniquely honest performances. This is a rare chance to get up-close and connect with those that continue to inspire us on the big stage. Charlotte is currently playing Sophie in the West End production of Mamma Mia! She is thrilled to be reprising the role after having recently returned from a year as Sophie on the Mamma Mia! International Tour. She made her West End debut at Eighteen playing Wendla in the Original London Cast of Spring Awakening. (Lyric Hammersmith/Novello Theatre) For her performance in Spring Awakening, Charlotte was nominated for "Best Actress in a Musical" at the 2010 Laurence Olivier Awards as well as a What's On Stage Theatregoer's Choice Award in the same category.
