Keira Knightley hopes to return to the West End stage soon, according to the UK Daily Telegraph.
"Hopefully it will be soon – I love doing theatre [...] When I was young and starting out as an actress, it wasn't film I thought of – it was always theatre," she said in an interview with the Telegraph's Tim Walker.
Knightley began her career with the films 'Bend It Like Beckham' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean' - which made her a Hollywood star. In 2005, she was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in the Jane Austen adaptation, 'Pride and Prejudice.' In 2007, she was nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award for her performance in 'Atonement.'
Knightley made her West End debut in Martin Crimp's version of Molière's comedy, The Misanthrope, at the Comedy Theatre in London alongside Damian Lewis, TAra Fitzgerald, and Dominic Rowan in December 2009. Knightley has been nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award as Best Supporting Actress as Jennifer in The Misanthrope. In 2011, Knightley played teacher Karen Wright in Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour, directed by Ian Rickson.
