IdeasTap, an online creative network and funding body for emerging artists, today launched the opportunity of a lifetime for young actors: the chance to win a coaching session with Hollywood star and Artistic Director of The Old Vic Theatre, Kevin Spacey.

This incredible chance to get personal feedback on audition technique from Kevin Spacey is the latest opportunity to be served up through the partnership between IdeasTap and Old Vic New Voices (OVNV), The Old Vic's award-winning programme for emerging talent.

Last week Spacey received a CBE from Prince Charles for his services to drama, having worked as Artistic Director of London's Old Vic since 2003.

IdeasTap are searching for 20 of the UK's most talented young actors to meet Spacey, perform a one-minute monologue in front of him, receive expert personal feedback and get his invaluable advice on how they can improve and make it to the top.

The opportunity doesn't end there: after receiving expert advice from the actor, director and movie producer, IdeasTap will shoot a professional showreel of the 20 lucky young performers delivering their speech.

Kevin Spacey said:
In the current climate of arts cuts, supporting young emerging artists is more important than ever. Old Vic New Voices and IdeasTap have teamed up to do just that, providing opportunities for exciting talent to develop and a vehicle for young performers to launch themselves into the professional world. I'm thrilled to be taking part in The Class.

Launching the opportunity, IdeasTap Chairman and philanthropist Peter De Haan added:
Our message to young talent at this challenging time is that your creative ingenuity and talent are vital for the future of our creative industries. We're delighted to be working with experts like Kevin and Old Vic New Voices to deliver life-changing opportunities for emerging artists. We believe that, with financial support and expert advice, our investment in emerging creative talent will reap real benefits across society.

Applications for Kevin Spacey: The Class is open to 16 - 25 year olds and closes at 5pm on Wednesday 17 November 2010. To win an audience with Spacey, applicants must sign up to the IdeasTap website and upload a film of themselves performing a one-minute monologue. Kevin Spacey: The Class will take place on Friday 26 November at the IdeasTap HQ in London.
