In a world of Xbox and BBM, the lines between reality and imagination can become blurred, especially for 14 year old Grace who has built a fortress of lies to protect herself, her friends and her family. Surprising and unsettling, Liar, Liar explores the chaos of Grace's world and her escalating conflict between truth and fiction.
E V Crowe is one of the most exciting young playwrights around. She is widely regarded as an inspiring voice for and about teenagers' experience in Britain today. Nominated for Most Promising Newcomer at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in 2011, she won critical acclaim for her debut play Kin at the Royal Court. Her other credits include most recently Hero (Royal Court) and Young Pretender (nabokov). EV is also part of the writing team for Jack Thorne's new 13 part series Glue for E4.
Director Blanche McIntrye was most recently named in the Hospital Club and Time Out's Culture 100 list of most original and influential people in the UK's creative industries. Winner of the Critics' Circle Award for Most Promising Newcomer for Foxfinder and Accolade (Finborough Theatre), the Off West End Theatre Award for Best Director in 2012, and the inaugural winner of the Leverhulme Bursary for Emerging Theatre Directors in 2009. She was Associate Director at Out of Joint in 2010, and Director in Residence at The National Theatre Studio and the Finborough Theatre in 2009.
