DEAR EDWINA Opens Tonight at The Lost Theatre

Dear Edwina, the kid-friendly musical comedy penned by Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler, will make is London premiere at The Lost Theatre tonight, February 20th 2013 running until Sunday 24th February 2013 produced by Act Now Entertainment.

Dear Edwina originally premiered Off-Broadway at the DR2 Theatre in New York City in 2009. That production received two 2009 Drama Desk Award nominations, for Outstanding Music (Zina Goldrich) and Outstanding Lyrics (Marcy Heisler).

The London cast features some of London's most up and coming young people including Lauren Ellington (13) & Grace Morrison (Billy Elliot, Aspects of Love) in the title role with Toby Turpin (13), KaTy Stephens (Billy Elliot), Lila Heller(Ragtime), Lois Ellington (The Wizard Of Oz), Sario Wantanabe (13) all appearing with some of London's most talented young performers.

Dear Edwina features music by Goldrich and book and lyrics by Heisler. The musical, according to press notes, concerns 13-year-old heroine, Edwina Spoonapple, who "decides that she and her pals will [put on a show]. Edwina's special talent is giving advice, and she would do almost anything to be a part of the Kalamazoo Advice-a-palooza Festival. When a talent scout visits her hometown of Paw Paw, Michigan, Edwina - assisted by a host of quirky friends and neighbors - enthusiastically sings out her musical advice in hopes of finding her own special place in the spotlight. Together Edwina and chums set out to tackle a plethora of problems, in numbers about everything from birthday party etiquette to the proper way to set a table."

The creative team is headed by Director/Choreographer Drew McOnie (13, Good Morning Midnight, Dames At Sea) it also includes musical director Edward Bell,, scenic designer Ryan Laight (Chess) & lighting designer Chris Elcock

The musical, recommended for ages 5-12, is 60 minutes in length.
