Anna-Jane Casey, Dean Chisnall, Alex Gaumond and Ross Hunter will lead the principal cast in the concept album of the new musical 'The Confession Room', due to be released on April 22 2013.

The show, with music and lyrics by Dan Looney, book by Patrick Wilde (based on an original idea by Dan Looney and Reece Looney) and additional lyrics by Reece Looney and Sam Champness, is about a group of people who come to The Confession Room to spill their
most embarrassing confessions and stories; a way of getting it off of their chest in front of a group of strangers rather than the humiliation they may face in telling their friends. We see confessions of all types: from hysterical stories to unbelievable tales, from sexual fantasies to touching moments of grief; the show is a message of how not to bottle up your feelings. But can the counsellor Caroline get over her own personal problems? And can she cope with new member Oliver whose opinions begin to divide the group - but won't reveal why he is in the room himself?

The cast is comprised of Anna-Jane Casey (Spamalot, Chicago, Sunday in the Park with George), Dean Chisnall (Shrek, Love Never Dies, Never Forget), Alex Gaumond (Top Hat, We Will Rock You, Legally Blonde), Ross Hunter (Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, We Will Rock You), Matthew Rowland (Taboo, Darling of the Day), Devon Johnson (Taboo, Spring Awakening), Joshua Lovell (Soho Cinders, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Rebecca-Jayne Davis (Jersey Boys, West Side Story) plus Natalie Bush, Steven Bush, Ben Fenner and Stephanie Clift.

The album will also feature an thirty-strong ensemble cast, made up of past and present musical theatre students from the prestigious Arts Educational Schools, London (President: Andrew Lloyd Webber), plus a ten-piece band led by Musical Supervisor Timothy Evans and Orchestrator & band Musical Director Florian Cooper.

The Confession Room is the debut musical for Dan Looney. He has previously written music for 'Judy, The Righteous' (Trafalgar Studios, West End & King's Head Theatre, London), and is the current composer on 'Oil & Trouble', a new dance piece produced by TREMers. Dan is currently writing two new musicals and has also written for various jazz and indie UK artists. American composer Bobby Cronin described Dan's music as "Clever, witty, heartfelt, melodic, passionate, humorous, universal, and more. He is someone to watch out for, both as a writer and an actor." Also a performer and a graduate of Arts Educational Schools, Dan is currently appearing as Sidney in 'Darling of the Day' at the Union Theatre, London and was last seen as Benny in 'Guys & Dolls' with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The album will be released on iTunes on April 22, and will be available on CD in the summer
(release date TBC).
