BWW:UK Awards 2012: First Week Of Nominations Ends!

The first week of nominations for the BWW:UK Awards is over - you've now got just over a fortnight to tell us your choices before voting begins! 

Fill in the nomination form and make sure your favourite stars and shows that have opened since September 2011 get the recognition they deserve!

There are two new categories this year, created due to popular demand, recognising the work of musical directors in the West End and in the regions. 

As always, for Understudy of the Year and Best Long-Running West End show, your nominees don't have to be in a show that opened in the past 12 months. However, last year's winners -Scott Garnham (Les Miserables) and Phantom of the Opera - will not be eligible in these categories.

You have until 14th September to get your nominations in - after that, voting will open on 1st October, with the winners to be announced towards the end of November.

After spending her formative years reading books and ending up with a Masters degree in English literature from King's College London, it was inevitable that Carrie should be a journalist. Her pure and simple delight in the art-form of musical theatre led to the Guardian asking her to be their West End Girl. Since then, she's picked up a PhD, and also written for many other UK publications, including the Times and the Independent. She has many eclectic loves, including sport, karaoke, reality television, MMORPGs, three-volume Victorian novels, the British seaside, embroidery and Veronica Mars.
