BOND WEEK to Kick Off Season at Broadway Theatre, September 20-23

The Broadway Barking is back on track this Autumn with a season packed with dance, drama, comedy and cabaret, five new premieres, a flexible 'festival' style programme, an exhibition space, free foyer shows and regular live streaming of the entire season; including rehearsals, backstage and the cheapest pay per view shows including the popular annual panto.

The season kicks off with Bond Week from the 20 September - 23 September, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise. Following the success of their Olympic Dream show earlier this year, The London Ballet Company bring Bond ballet to Barking with the premiere of '00 and his 7'. If there is one secret agent who is world renowned for being suave and debonair it's 007, James Bond. In the premiere of a pulsating new work by the London Ballet Company, Bond must find a diamond thief to uncover a diabolical plot to seize control of the world's financial markets and bring the West to its knees.

Martini Bond: The Hunt For The Spy Who Loved Her Mum is a new comedy written by journalist Lyndsey Jones. Bond is back as you've definitely never seen her before. Martini, brought up in a single parent household with a Bond girl for a mother, is tracing her family history. After James Bond's file was left on a train and a photo of her was in it, Martini's childhood memories were shaken but not stirred. She'd never thought of meeting her dad. Until now. The cast includes Julia Collier, James Edenborough, Juliet Holding, Clare Jones and Mike Stewart and the play is directed by Helen Niland.

A former Daily Mail sub editor, Lyndsey has written numerous sketches, which have been performed by comedy duo the Spring Chix on the London fringe circuit. She has also worked as a joke writer and has had more than 100 cartoons published in the Times Educational Supplement.

Judith Walker presents a FREE exhibition of a selection of her paintings and some original cartoons from her time with both The Sun and New Humanist magazine. Under the name Judy Walker, her early cartoons appeared in the magazine Duck Soup, following which she had a regular strip in the women's section of The Sun. Titled 'Men!', making fun of the male of the species.

Enjoy both shows and the exhibition on the same spytastic night, with Bond-themed performances by local dance and singing groups performed in the foyer between shows.

Coming up at the Broadway Barking, Doormen, a new adult comedy about club bouncers by actor and writer Andy McHugh, starring Ciaran Grifiths (Shameless) and Kirsty Leigh Porter (Emmerdale); Airport a new play written and directed rising star Ben Lyons Ross; free performances from The Lowlife Cabaret of the Original Army; The Barking Withcraft Trials; Barking & Dagenham's Literature Fest, a weeklong celebration of local and national authors reading their work and sharing their writing tips; Barking and Dagenham's Got Talent and the Christmas Panto, Cinderella.
