Ardal O'Hanlon, Andrew Nolan, John Rogan Lead Port Authority At Southwark

Ardal-OHanlon-Andrew-Nolan-John-Rogan-Lead-Port-Authority-At-Southwark-20010101

Tim Johanson Productions and Ollie Jordan will present a Rhapsody of Words production of Port Authority, written by Conor McPherson and directed by Tom Attenborough.

Cast includes: Ardal O’Hanlon. Andrew Nolan. John Rogan.

24th January to 18th February 2012
PRESS NIGHT: 27TH JANUARY 2012 AT 7.30PM
Casting announced for Port Authority, opening at The Vault, Southwark Playhouse for a four week run on Friday, 27 January with previews from 24 January 2012.

A young boy leaves home for the first time, a middle-aged man begins a job, and an old man receives a mysterious package. Each has a story to tell, each has something to reveal. As each man confronts the significance of these events, they are forced to take stock of themselves, their feelings, and of the decisions they have made. Painting a vivid picture of life in contemporary Dublin, playwright Conor McPherson (The Weir, The Veil and Dublin Carol) weaves together a moving and funny tale of loves lost and found, the consequences of big dreams and the significance of even our smallest choices.

Port Authority is a play for anyone who has ever chosen the rational over the risky, who has ever drawn away from the possibility of brilliance, being left to wonder what might have been.

Coming to Southwark Playhouse’s newest performance space, The Vault, Port Authority is written by Dublin-born writer Conor McPherson (Best New Play, The Weir). His previous awards include the Olivier Award for Best New Play for The Weir, the Guinness/National Theatre Ingenuity Award, the Stewart Parker Award and the Meyer Whitworth Award. He has also received Tony Awards nominations for both Shining City and The Seafarer.

Director Tom Attenborough’s theatre credits include Arab Spring (Arch 61), The Mountaintop (Derby LIVE), The Shape of Things (Gallery Soho). As an Assistant Director, his credits include Earthquakes in London (Headlong), Butley (Duchess Theatre), Masterclass (Theatre Royal Bath), House of Games (Almeida Theatre) and Love Story (Minerva Theatre, Chichester).

The cast includes: Ardal O’Hanlon. Andrew Nolan. John Rogan.

Ardal O’Hanlon is an award-winning comedian, actor, writer, and star of Channel 4’s Father Ted, BBC’s My Hero and Val Falvey (RTE). Guest leads include Channel 4’s Skins and BBC’s Doctor Who (BBC). Ardal also stars in the feature film Wide Open Spaces. A highly acclaimed stand-up, he has toured to sell-out audiences internationally and has released two Top Ten stand-up DVD’s. He continues to be one of the most sought after comedians working with regular sell-out solo tours. Ardal’s debut novel The Talk of the Town remained in the Best Seller charts for more than six months. Recent theatre credits include God of Carnage (Gate Theatre, Dublin) and See You Next Tuesday (Gate Theatre, Dublin; Albery Theatre).

Andrew Nolan trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Theatre includes Butley (Duchess Theatre), The Shape of Things (The Gallery Soho), A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Skewbald Theatre), A Little Neck (Goat and Monkey), and Black Snow (Lost Trolley). Theatre whilst training includes The Man of Mode, 'Tis Pity She's a Whore, The Comedy of Errors, A View from the Bridge and The Secret Rapture.
