Following their sell-out debut performances last autumn, A Stage Kindly will present a new series of revues of new musical theatre writing at various venues in London and Brighton in March 2009. This new musical theatre initiative provides the opportunity for fresh new writing talent to introduce their work to the stage and gives musical theatre fans a chance to experience possible future hit shows before anyone else.
Produced by Katy Lipson and Giles Howe, the revue will feature thirty two songs from twenty two new shows across the spectrum of the musical theatre genre - from big, belty old-school numbers through to the most contemporary of musical styles, written by a diverse collection of writers, including David Reiser (an American composer with forty eight musicals to his name), Emmy award nominee Jack Urbont and Christopher J. Orton (composer of the musical Dracula, whose concept CD starring Michael McCarthy was an acclaimed best seller at London's "Dress Circle" in 2007-8).
The A Stage Kindly showcase will be performed by vocalists Elise Bowd, Teresa De Gennero, Nicola Henderson, Scott Armstrong, Lewis Greenslade, Giles Howe and Katy Lipson - and will feature songs from the following new musicals: A Fine Time For Wine, A Weekend of Art Deco, All About Love, Ballet Russes, B.O.A.T.S., Grace Notes, Joined At The Heart, Lady Jane, Macho Manly Men, Mind The Gap, Mrs. McThing, Murder At The Savoy, My Land's Shore, Quel Fromage, Slay It With Music, Spilt Milk, Tales Of Tinseltown, The Charmed Life, The Christmas Bride, The Company Of Women, This Time Next Week, and Turkish Delight At The Opera.
The revue will launch at Rodon in Camden on March 5 and will tour several club venues before ending at The Battersea Barge on April 5. General admission costs £10 and tickets can be reserved through SMS or by phone call to 07762 773 628.
